Im thinking of doing a combination build....Front Trunnion Riveted using Pookies bolt cutter method, trigger guard screwed and rear screwed.  Or can I use pookies bolt cutter for the trigger guard rivets as well?

I REACHED THE CENTURY MARK IN POSTS

You don't need a fixture for the rear if you are using a block that has the two long rivets.
All you need is a hard flat surface and a ball pein hammer. Set it flat and hammer the rivets.
Works like a charm.

So it would be ok to drill and tap the trigger guard and rivet the rest?

For Riveting TGs - here is what I have done several times:

1. Get a cheap vice or a set of vice jaw inserts to sacfice.

2. Pad the jaws of the above and inset the TG into the vice and mark the locations of the Rivet heads.

3. Drill a divot, open and polish them up - these divots hold the rivet heads - make them closely fit the rivet head.

4. Align and and bolt the TG to the recevier - check mag fit etc. When it is where you want it mark the location and crank down the 5 small bolts and approiately sized you use to tempoaray hold the TG in proper alignment to the receiver.

5. Remove one of the  bolt s from the front of the TG - Install the rivet - clamp it in the vice jaws - formed rivet head in the divot.

6. Use a press or a hammer and a flat punch with another divot ground into the head of it - to form the new river head.

7. Mash it in the press or whang the punch with the hammer.

8. Take out another bolt and repeat 3 times.

9. The rear of the TG I do with a scrap piece of steel  to buck the rivet head and a punch - if I am lazy I just use a bolt in it. If I use  a rivet - I C Clamp the TG to the reciever in the middle of the TG bow and set the rivet.

It takes about as long to type as do !

You could only do one divot in the Vice jaws to save time !

You want a smooth divot - that closely matches the rivet head size else you rivets will look bad !

Have extra rivets - practice a little on some scrap metal if you are picky - or just drill out the bad rivet and try it again !
