Anyone got a link for rivet tools? Someone had tools for a air hammer, can't find it now.

OK, I'll give this a shot since nobody else posted...

I did mine with a rivet squeezer.  (I think it was from US Tool or something like that.  I can find the name  if you want it but I would try another route first.)  It cost more than the AK parts kit and took forever to get shipped.  It worked well and I got a good set and solid rivets but took plenty of effort.  I think I could do better now that I have some experience with the tool.  The last rivet is way better looking than the first.

My buddy across the street  is an aircraft mechanic and shooter.  He said get a bucking bar and air hammer set.  (I have a compressor.)  I couldn't find a set.

I have heard some people use a press from Harbor Freight.  $60 rings a bell but I'm not sure.

There is a post somewhere on here about making a squeezer from bolt cutters.

Be patient and think about this.  People build AK's in caves with no power.  You can figure this out if you take the time and look around.  This is the fun part of building.

Screw builds are fine and welds are fine but I riveted and I am glad I made the effort.

P.S.  If  your in The Woodlands let me know and I we can finish it quick.

I just need to attach a tang. I was thinking of making a bucking bar out of a block of steel (with a dimple  drilled to match the rivet head) and then using a ball peen hammer to mushroom the other end. Where is Campy when you need him.

You can just use the anvil on your vise too - don't need a real techy approach for the rears.
