What do the two letters in front of the serial numbers on the carrier and front trunnion block stand for?

I've got three AMD-65's and they all have different letter prefixes in front of the serial numbers;

BR XXXXX
DG XXXX
EH XXXX

Are these letters some sort of date code, an identifier of the particular manufacturing plant, or what?

Just curious . . . . Doug

Was wondering the same thing. The strange thing is that my kit (brand new from Centerfire Sys) has the prefix DY. Happens to be my initials!

I'd also like to know more about the AMD-65's history, such as years of manufacture and what info can be gained from the serial #'s etc. I asked these questions on another gunboard but didn't get any answers.
