If I cut my amd muzzle break between  and add the required spacer to comply with barrel length,  is it a us part or still considered a import part?

import, same as putting a US pg on the lower front handguard, still imported

Tapco sells the extended brakes for $25 or so.  Just ordered one, haven't seen one in person.  The brake isn't the hard part, it's securing the brake permanently.  Options are to weld it on, High-Temp solder it on (1100 degrees from what I've been told), or to pin/weld the thing on.  I'm going for the silver solder myself.

As for the forward pistol grip, I disagree.  I was under the impression that the forward pistol grip counted as a compliance part because the mounting plate was no longer acting as a 'handguard'.  Could be wrong.  Not like it matters, my AMD will be compliant with the Piston, FCG and Rear Grip as it is, but it's a matter of interest for others.

I have one of the Tapco extended brakes and it looks fine. I think it had a blued finish but it was worn on the sharper edges but I parkerized the whole assembly after welding it on the barrel. The only think I don't like it that "Tapco USA" is stamped on the brake. I guess that proves its a USA part.

Oh, I almost forgot, its really loud!
