I have read a lot concerning parkerizing, and I'm considering a DIY park-ing of my AK rework. It may have been asked many times before, but my questions concern the inside of the reciever, the feed ramp an the rails......do you park everything or should these areas be protected from the park solution?

Hope you can help

Park away!
I have rubber corked the bbl ends and used a toothpick for the gas port, and then found a simple cleaning works for minor residue in the chrome bore.

The only thing you really have to watch out for is to do a good job sand blasting everything then do a very good job of degreasing the parts right before you drop them into the proper temp park solution.
Once they come out of the Park, make a quick rinse then into an oil bath to prevent flash rusting.
All in all parking is really too easy once you get the hang of it. I still can't believe the finish when a part comes out of the oil bath!

Good Luck,
