When you get a receiver, will it come with gun assembly instructions?  I am thinking about trying to get a oow receiver and I have read that some places send you instuctions, or is that just for the flat assembly?  Is there any places that have books or manuals on how to build from a kit?  I think I know basically what I am doing, I just get a bit confused and pictures help.

The receiver will not come with instructions. I picked up a OOW receiver and it was very nice, it was a little long and had to be cut on the back end, but not a big deal. I was able to put mine together with just the information that guys on this site were able to provide. Just ask and someone will be nice enough to help you. Gun people are like that!

If your doing a screw together kit I can help you out with pics and info from my build. Campy also has screw together info I've seen him offer to email other builders.

We're here for ya, just give a holler!

I would love to see some pictures of the screw builds. I'm just getting ready to start on my SBR reciver with a AMD-65 kit.

Here's my Bulgie AK74 screw assembled rifle. If you need any specific pics let me know, my dig. camera is not the best but I'll see what I can do.

Anybody care to do a step by step with pics?  I'm also interested in a how to for a screw together kit.  Still trying to decide between screws or rivets for my first build.

I have pics I took during my build. I could put them together with notes in a step-by-step fashion. Can you wait a day or two, I'm having some construction done to my house.

I just finished this build based on a ACE Arms pre-bent and a Hungarian AMD-63 barrel.

How did you like the ACE Arms reciver? Was it an 80% or a finished reciver?

I'm about ready to start my project, did you have any trouble with yours?

It was a blank and came with a great template. No problems at all.

Just work carefully and test fit often, as you go.

Is it hard to bend, and weld the rails into the 80% receiver?

No bending required with an ACE Arms Blank. Check out the tutorial at the end of that page. It's really helpful.

The rails are attached with some 4-40 buttonhead screws.

Is an 80% receiver considered a us compliance part?  Do you have to harden it your self?

Another question.  Should you finish your gun apart or together?
