would like to know if one of those wasr-10 rifles with the "narrow in line mag well" can be modified for the real mags. thinking maybe a job for the dremel or did they do some thing real drastic to these.

My WASR was bought already modified for regular mags.  Not sure how it was done though.  Probably just a dremel job.

It can be done with the dremel but a mill does a much nicer job. you have to obey the parts count laws though if you convert. you have to trim the receiver, front trunion, and mag supports.

the magazine well can be opened up with a file...if you don't mind the elbow grease required.

usually, a feed ramp must be added, also (k-var sells this part.)

then, 5-usa parts must be added to make the high capacity conversion legal.

I thought I would be slick and pick one up on the cheap and just open the mag well and i'd have some thing I could leave behind the seat in the pick up. I forgot about the us made parts. It wouldnt be to cheap after that. and then the feed ramp. maybe after sunset it might be worth it. They probley wont be abel to melt those inline mag models down and pour them on people.

How hard is it to replace or add a feedramp?

I converted a romak 991. (Should basically be identical to a WASR lowcap) I never had to add a feed ramp.

Could you go into a little detail on how what it takes to convert the romak 991?  I have one.

Thanks.

My bud and I plan on buying the single stacks and converting them.

As far as feed ramps go, My SAR1 does not have one.  The round is stripped off the mag and fed straight into the breach.
