Hey all, Last spring I assembled an AR-15, which was a good time and now I have a great A2 Clone. I only feed my AR some high grade stuff so I want a cheap semi-auto blaster. I like the idea of buying a plain-jane Saiga and doing the PG/High-cap conversion. My questions are: - How hard would it be to do? (I am pretty decent with my hands and stuff of that sort) - How much money would I need to have to do it right (I have a light drill press, rotary tool...basically the average workshop at my disposal) - Is there anyway I could make professional looking rivits w/o an air compressor? -Do you have to convert 5.45mags for a .223 Saiga? Thanks -Frank |

Youre gonna need a press if you want to put the reg style hg on. You can either press on the rivits for the tguard or weld them on. The parts you will need are: handguard retainer, stockset, pistolgrip screw/base, trigger guard, feedramp, gastube. The parts themselves are actually pretty cheap. Ive got most of the parts, look in the for sale section under AK parts or email me. You can help dferay the costs by selling the old saiga parts. |

I sell a Saiga COnversion CD which details the entire process of converting a Saiga to high capacity and pistol grip. The .223/5.56 and 7.62X39 are covered in the high cap conversion, and the pistol grip can be done to any Saiga. The pg is only legal on the rifles and the .410 shotgun though. I sell them outright and on Ebay. Check out my auctions. Do a search for Saiga COnversion CD . Step-by-step pictures and about 430 megs of other AK and SKS info and movies. |
