Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is there a differance between a Ak-74 and AK-47 receiver?

I'm wanting to build a blank receiver but don't know what kit I'll use but if I use a AK-47 template on the blank is it only good for a AK-47 and not a AK-74?

As I understand it, the rails make the difference. I just put a '47 togather on a OOW reciever, and I was told the rail structure is different in the guts.

The only differences are the ejector and the mag well
