Sory I'm not to familar with ak kits but does anyone sell kits that have the barel pressed in the piece that rivts onto the reciever so there is no need to do any head spacing or any need for a press other then for riviting? Sory, probly a stupid question.

setlab, k-var, and other companies, sell the bulgarian ak-74 parts sets with the barrel pressed into the trunniun.

you must drill out the old rivets and then rivet the barreled trunnion into the new receiver.

riveting can be done with a hammer/rivet setting punch or an air chisel.

in any case, headspace should always be inspected with chamber gages prior to test firing.

I have a Romanian AKMS kit that has the barrel still in the trunion....  I don't know if they are all that way but it was funny when I unpacked the box and I was looking for the front trunion and thought it was missing... until I thought to look at the barrel assembly

I forgot to say, this came from Interordance... if I dare say that anymore!

The AMD65 kits come with the trunnion still installed. I filed the rivits flat, slid the rec'r on until it lined up with the rivits, then welded the rivits/rec'r and filed the rec'r sides flat.
