I tried the search feature, but nothing turned up.  I have ground down the rivet heads in an attempt to remove the rivets from the rear trunnion.  Do I now need to drill them out, or should they be loose enough (they'er not)to tap out using a punch?  This is my first AK 'thing', so any advise would be appreciated.  Thanks

Drill a small hole in the center of the rivets. This allows them to compress enough to punch out.

i take a die grinder and abrasive/sandpaper disc the them to flush out the head.

then, centerpunch them and use a 3/32" drill bit on the small rivets and a 1/8" drill bit on the large rivets to drill partially thru the rivet stem.

a pin punch and hammer will rive them out from there.

Airframe techs you guys are not. I center punch the rivet head and drill them. Take a punch and insert it into the hole and bend them over and they shear off.
