If you mean what size hole to drill so you can tap for those sizes then
#29 for the 8-32
#25 for 10-24
#21 for the 10-32
11/64 for 5mm .008

What ya using the #8's on? trigger guard?
I am just gonna use rivets on the trigger guard.
It is easy to get to on both sides.

Drug runner

I prefer the rivets in the triggerguard and the rear trunnion and screw the front

I am thinking of using rivets for the underfolder trunnion, if you got a rivet kit there will be one odd one use that one for the rear triggerguard hole

hi gary welcome to the site, yes I comment here too, this site consist of folks who got tired of the other site and all the negativity

tip use a smaller size screw and step up when aligning screw holes

Thanx for the reply on drillbit sizes DrugRunR,ant to both you and jacksprat for comments on trigger guard riveting.
I have a very low tech work area, bench, dremel, and small drill press from Harbor Freight.
How do you guys,or what type of equipment do you use to set rivets in trigger guard and rear tang? Please understand I've never done this before but I've always felt there wasn't a whole lot of metal in receiver to use 8-32 screws in trigger guard.
Thanx a ton for your input.

well truthfully I was gonna just use regular blind rivets in the trigger area. I kinda screwed up and drilled them for 5mm screws but there is not enough thickness to screw the trigger area.  I am gonna place a order to GLOBAL TRADES soon and will get some rivets.

Jack, I already threaded my rear trunion for 5mm .08 bolts so I am gonna screw them as well.
You know it would be cool as chit if someone would come out with longer rivets for the front trunion.

Are you trying to tap the receiver to accept the 8-32 screws? If so your right there is not enough material.

What I did was buy a piece of 1/8"x3/4"-3' piece of flat steel from Lowes. I cut a piece to fit snuggly inside the receiver over the four rivet holes for the trigger guard. Drilled and tapped this to accept 8-32 button head cap screws, and cut the screws to sit flush with the inside of the plate. In effect making a "nut plate". The heads of the screws are a bit too large for the surface where they mount, they hit the side of the trigger guard where the mag catch mounts. I fixed this by grinding down the heads with a sanding disk untill they sit flush in the trigger guard. For the rear screw I bought a self locking fiber nut, which when turned with the flats facing outward, fit perfectly between the arms of the trigger.

I would post pics but haven't had much luck lately with photo hosting. If you need pics email me, I'll gladly help!

ok you are going to find some of the screw heads will be in the way, the rear trunnion screw and top cover come to mind, and the selector lever
grinding down the screwheads is the way to go,I read post where some guy's filled the hex hole with JB weld to look like rivets. I have used nuts and bolts on the triggerguard , you got to customize the bolt and screwhead and the lenght. flatten the nut on a grinder put it place and use locite or I like the plate suggestion that gives you more meat to screw into, I had a problem not tightening these screws, the triggerguard came apart at the range, so I ended up shooting the gun like a STG-44 by the mag, to keep it in place. I have since riveted it in place, and removed the screws
I use a large flat punch/Rod & sledge hammer and vise. I drill a hole in the rivet end,  next keep the head against the vise and smash the end from the inside, two or three whacks, trim with a dremel, the head will flatten a bit but you will not see a difference
there is no reason why you can not screw the whole thing together

As I used to say " Screw AK's forget rivets"
