| I know not exactly what you are looking for but have you checked out Bonesteel Arms ? I put one on my Saiga 12 conversion and love it. I didn't have to replace the rear trunion nor cut the tang. You can un bolt the ace style stock they have and attach a different one. |

I just finished four Saiga conversions for the triangle folder. It isn't particularly difficult, it is just tedious. One thing that came as a surprise to me was that my original receiver sections , which I had cut for templates, were actually different - there was about a .040 front to rear difference in the rear latch location. Some Bulgy, Some Russian. So I'm revising my methodology to make the cutouts .040 undersize and only finish machine them when the trunion is riveted.
You cannot remove the front trunion from a SAIGA 100 series unless you can get a new rivet to initiate the bolt rotation, and I've never seen one of these available. The differential heat treat on it makes me hesitant to try to make one. There is also the potential for drilling through the barrel when doing the front latch (which is bad). So I highly recommend this only be done on a drill press or mill with a positive stop feature. I set the depth on the barrel before going back to cut the axle hole on the trunion. 5/32 and then hand ream to 4mm. I cut the rough outline for the rear trunion rake, using the top left rivet hole as my reference point - this is the spot that is narrowest. Once you can drop a long rivet in that hole, through the trunion, you can use the trunion itself as a guide to finish align the other angles. |
