I am going to change out gas blocks on a WASR 10 ( hopefully).
How much trouble is it to remove the FSB and gas block, and replace them without a press?

My opinion, difficult. Assuming that your going to take a BFH to it increases the odds that something is going to get fkd up or bent or trashed, but some have done it with success, just not my cup of tea.

If you could get a gear puller to reach, it might not be so bad.  Just make sure to unpin the effer first  But, yeah, if it is BFH, there is a potential to screw up parts.  Back on is easier - use the all-thread method.

If you decide to go the BFH route, find an open end wrench that will fit the barrel snugly and firmly support the FSB or GB.  Support this firmly on sturdy vise jaws.
A second pair of hands is advised to help steady the rifle between the jaws.

Put a muzzle nut on the threads.  Use a piece of nylatron or that heavy molecular weight material to put between the nut and BFH.  Pound away......

Good luck.  You're probably gonna need it.  I've done it this way, but don't really recommend it.

As others have said, it's a good way to FUBAR something,

Hmm I knocked the FSB off my SAR2 pretty easily... hammered out the pins, tapped the FSB off, and tapped on a threaded AIMS74 FSB and drilled the holes an pinned it. Easy, did in in my apartment.

It was pretty easy to be honest.  Easier than knocking out a barrel pin with a hammer by about 5 times.  hardest part was keeping it lined up by drilling it...

Tools: Hammer, Punch, Hand drill, no press at all.

Gas block? I dunno might be more difficult have not tried that one yet.
