I've built several AK's before, but this new M70AB2 I just finished and test-fired tonight was throwing several sparks when fired. Not every shot, and seemed to diminish the more I shot. I took the brake off thinking maybe it was getting hit but no. Any ideas? Maybe just shavings from being demilled? (no, I didn't clean the barrel first).

Check it on paper to make sure it's not key holding, after you clean the hell of it,

Out the muzzle?  What ammo?  I'm betting its just gobs of unburned powder igniting in air.

I guess but wouldn't a slight tap from the bullet in the muzzle cause a spark, I'm I wrong..it will defiantly key hole.

Wolf ammo. I will shoot at some paper this afternoon.

Steel jacket stuff will spark if the copper coating is thin or the bore is tight. If not crome lined this could mean the barrel needs broke in.

Check your muzzle with a Q-tip swab to see if there is a burr on the edge of the muzzle.

I put 15 rounds into a paper target yesterday with no sparks and no keyholing.

If it was a burr, perhaps it got shot off. Yes it was steel-cased ammo. Seems to be a non-issue now. Thanks for the advice.
