I bought a conversion kit that included a Tapco T6 side-folding stock, Hogue Monogrip, MD Arms trigger guard, Tapco G2 FCG with Tromix Shepherd's Hook, etc.

My Saiga 12 is the IZ-109 model.  This is my first conversion.

I got everything apart fairly easily...no problems removing the sporter trigger/guard location.

The MD Arms trigger guard has a single screw/nut holding on the back, and the drilling of two holes for the front is required...also did that with no problem.

However, I didn't realize until I went to put the pistol grip on that there was no "provision" for it with this style of trigger guard (whereas it is built into the Tromix DIY guard).  Never even crossed my mind when ordering parts.  So problem one is that I have no idea how to install the grip nut.  I can't see any way that it would attach to the receiver.  I guess I could always ditch the MD Arms guard and buy the Tromix, but I already drilled two more holes in my receiver for it and don't really feel like dealing with that....if possible.

Found one here:

But I have no idea how it attaches to the receiver.

Problem number two is that I can't get the safety selector lever reinstalled.  I watched the Carolina Shooter's Supply videos where it was mentioned the lever might have to be modified, but it seems like it's getting caught up on the bolt catch release lever.  I'm not sure what needs to be ground on it, so for the moment I left it alone.

Lastly, I received the Tromix Shepherd's Crook with my FCG parts...but I'm not sure what to do with it (instead of access pin retaining plate)?  It is supposed to secure the retaining pins for the FCG somehow, but I can't figure out where it goes.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!!

1) you need to dremel a square hole into the bottom of your receiver to install handguards that way

2) Are you using the original BHO lever or this? modified bho lever

3) Hell with shepherd's crooks they are a pita, get this instead axis pin retainer

1)  Yeah, kinda figured that out after posting this thread.  I think I'd rather plug the holes than try to hack a square into my receiver for the nut.

2)  It's the original BHO lever -the video I watched mentioned it might need to be modified to work, but didn't go into enough detail for me to be confident taking a dremel to it.  I may compare pictures of modified/stock and see if it's something I think I can do, otherwise I'll just buy the modified piece.

3)  Yeah, I guess I should have done more research prior to buying my conversion kit, which I assumed was all-inclusive and would be everything I needed...since that's what it said.

Thanks for the advice though, shoulda done more research I suppose.

Just as any FYI for anyone else that might see this thread in the future, I still had problems getting everything put back together using the axis pin retainer.  I don't know if the machining was off a minuscule amount, or if I wasn't "doing it right" (the most likely cause), but I could NOT get my safety lever reinstalled properly and lined up with the provision in the receiver when combined with the retainer.  I ended up going to the hardware store and buying several "e clips" to retain the axis pins, and had no problems whatsoever.  Much less frustrating than a Shepherd's Crook, and from what I found in my Googling, many others have done the same with no issue.  The e clips offer 3 contact points on the axis pin, vs 1ish on the Shepherd's Crook.  They ran my $.24/ea, I needed two, but bought a bunch of extras just in case.
