found this bending jig on youtube and was wondering why I never came across this here.  It seems much more simple than a jig with a press.    jig

or how about this?  sheet metal break

any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I've got a 20 ton press.  I'm curious about it being easier, though.  I've never built an AK from a flat, but I'd like to start.  The brake / jig setup sure looks clean and quick.

I dont have a press or a jig for a press, and it does not look easier from this angle.  It looks like a lot more things can go wrong with a press.  But, i have have never done either method.  I may be posting an experiance rather than a question about a break here in a few weeks.

With a press, the angles will be right. You would have to work at screwing them up.

When I first started I used this but by the time you make a die to hold the flat in place you have wasted enough flats to purchase one from AK-Builder.com... In theroy you can but it takes alot of effort to get it right... My problem was I was not bend then square then it takes alot of hammering and fixing the flat to work and get the side rails right....Its to bad like on other sites the members here dont rent and lend the bender out.... But again like mine at 250.00 a pop its hard to trust everyone.....
