Tried to search as much as I could on the subject, just want to be certain I understand all the bits and pieces.
Since the NODAK Tantal receiver is no longer available, I will be building on a 100% standard AK 74 receiver, either NODAK or OOW. If I read right, to do this on the standard receiver, I will need a Non Tantal AK 74 S/F selector lever and standard fire control group. With these extra parts I should be able to buid the Tantal kit on a Standard fixed stock AK 74 receiver, correct? Also are the fire control groups the same for a AK 47 and AK 74? Also I'm not concerned about the dummy lever on the left side. Thanks |

Not sure if I understood everything you are saying and asking, but the fire control groups (FCG) are virtually identical and interchangeable. After that what matters is the trunions and what receiver they will fit in. I'm not aware of any special needs/differences from the tantal to most others. Re-word your questions or use pictures and we might be able to help you further. |

Polish Tantal safety and selector parts are installed in receiver holes that are in a different location when compared to the AKM or AK74 parts. If you build a Tantal kit on an AK-74 receiver, you must use an AKM or AK74 safety/selector. In such a build, you can use standard U.S. made fire control sets such as from TAPCO, Arsenal, Texas Triggers, or Century.
We are planning to do another production run of dedicated Tantal (NDS-2T) receivers, by the way. Thanks. Harlan NoDak Spud LLC |

I have the opposite problem. I built a Tantal on a Tantal NDS receiver, but my kit didn't come with the correct lever, so I stuffed a regular AK lever in, which works but is not correct since the opposite side hole is enlarged for the Tantal selector. I've looked high and low for a Tantal selector for sale, but could never find one.
If you end up building on a '74 receiver and not using your Tantal selectors, please IM me |

I've done them both ways - what some don't seem to get is that the tantal L side selector is purely cosmetic on a semiauto gun. It is not "ambi". The L side positions do not match the R side positions so nothing is gained by unitizing them.
R side is S/F. Left side is semi-burst-auto So if you are using a US FCG anyway, for 922, then just add a standard AKM selector for a tantal build on a standard 74 receiver. If you want the tantal L side selector for cosmetics, then wait for the next run of NDS-2T receivers.
