Yet another question:

I am going to install a side plate on my AMD65 build. I've never done this before, and found this quite helpful video tutorial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljh8aeYqWuU&feature=player_embedded

However, the rear hole he uses is for a rivet in a standard trunnion. The rear trunnion on the AMD65 does not use the standard rivet pattern.

Should I simply drill a hole where it would normally be? How should I locate that hole? Does it matter as long as the other holes are consistent with the error?

Thanks for your help

If your gun is not together go ahead and assemble it.
The side plate will have a small dimple or hole to go over the center support rivet that needs to be centered over the center support.
This is what I did, level the plate with top of the receiver and mark where the center rivet in the plate goes.
Drill the hole for the center rivet and press it in the center rivet hole of the plate.
Mount your scope on the slide mount and slide the mount & scope on the rail.
Go to the range & use some Christmas wrap paper turned backwards with a 1" dot in the center at 25yds.
Set the rifle on a sand bag or a solid rest, look down the side of the barrel aim it at the center of the paper, looking through the scope move the slide mount up or down to center the horizontal cross hair over the 1" dot & fire the rifle.
Rock the mount up or down in the direction needed, fire again and repeat. When you get the scope aligned with the round landing in a horizontal line from the dot on the paper, mark the other holes.
Drill and press rivets on those marks.
Even if the receiver is misaligned the rail will be aligned with the bore.
