Finally putting the paint (Duracoat) on two krinkov builds (762 and 545).

Has anyone done any tests on Krinkov barrel temperature, other than this Krinkov heat test?

Specifically, I am concerned that the Krink barrel could quickly get up to close to 500 degrees, the max point for duracoat.  I'm wondering whether I should use duraheat on just the barrel, and do the rest of the gun in a matching duracoat, or whether I should do the entire thing in duraheat (unnecessary, but would probably be a more uniform finish).

Any thoughts?  I've used duracoat before on my saiga 12 (no chance of getting it that hot) and on a hungarian underfolder (safe queen), so I don't have any experience with its ability to stand up to heat, nor do I have experience with how hot Krinkov barrels get (and how quickly they get hot).

Thanks

what kind of finish is on them right now?  there are better baked on finishes to use, that would be stronger. they should be blasted then parked, if you want it right....

builds look the best with original finish on the barrels,IMO
