I'm a newb, don't beat up on me too much.

I do not have headspace guages and found where someone had taken the bolt apart, firing pin out, etc... I decided to give this a try.

I took the bolt apart. Put a round in the chamber and installed the bolt. It slides all the way forward and rotates. There is the slightest play back and forth, I mean so slight a hair would not fit between the round and bolt. My question is, is this acceptable? Or should it be an absolute tight fit?

BTW, it's an AMD 65 with chrome lined Romy barrel.

Thank you.

Can't tell you untill you try it again with gauges. This is not an area that you guess on, headspace is about the only thing on an ak that must be done precisely.

+1

You might ask around the hometown forum for your area. Probably someone close that has one you can use.
