Hi all,

I snapped and paid too much for a Tantal kit.  I'm assembling onto a Marsh Hawk bent blank which I need to cut and drill.  Am I better off using a regular AK safety lever rather than dealing with the safety and selector from the tantal?  Do any of the pin locatons change with a Tantal versus a regular AK?  I did successfully whittle one of these for an awesome Romy G build so the machining is not a big concern as long as nothing is different.   Thanks,

Gary

Here is a pic of an AK 74 in progress on a Tapco receiver flat that I bent. As far as I can tell the only thing you have to change is the selector switch and hammer. If you run in to something else let us know.

Since you are starting with a blank you can do either.
The Tantal safety lever hole location is different than a normal AK. If you use the Tantal location, you must use the Tantal safety lever, if you use the standard hole location, you need to use a standard lever.

I used a Tantal specific flat from AK-builder and a Tantal lever (modified per NDS instructions to work with a G-2 FCG)
