Is there any problem with parkerizing an AK after it's completely assembled?

No and it is how most builder do it anyways.

I like to park twice. Before and after assembly. Then apply the GC or moly.

But parking after building is fine. Just make sure you rinse and wash it down well and neutralizer that mild acid from the park that gets in the crevices. If you don't, it could rust later on.

One good reason to use Ballistol lube. It is alkaline and will penetrate crevices and neutralize acids.

The biggest problem with doing this if you are doing the build yourself, is affording the stainless pans to fit a complete gun in. I bought a few stainless steam table trays from a resurant supply place that were long enough for a barrel, they are big enough where I can fit the all the parts side by side.

For most of my parking I use a SS 18" x 5 x 5 restaurant steam table pan on a old camp stove.

No problem to do a barrel assembly and a receiver and then press together and pin after parking.

Just holds a gallon of solution. Very affordable way to park parts.
