Should you threadlock the Gas Piston ?  The Tapco unit does not have a hole for the pin but it seems that just screwing this thing in real tight would hold.  Opinions ??

Negative. The correct way is to screw the gas piston in, back it off 1/2 turn and then drill and pin it.

You want the gas piston slightly floppy on the bolt carrier. If there is mis alignment of the gas block and receiver the slops lets the rifle still work.

Tightly screwed in + threadlocker = fail in this application

it need to have some play otherwise it might not function properly.
