Started putting my Bulgarian ak 74 together finally.
I used the udrives and on the inside of the receiver I migged the ends on some udrives to the trunions.
The only u drives I couldn't get where behind the barrel which got red locktight and the upper rear truinion screws (2) The lower rear trunion I migged. So two in the back lower trunion got migged and two in front lower trunion.
So I am wondering if this is a method people used or could use to stop the fear of u drive failure?
If I read right the back Udrives failing is what supposedly hurt the guy in the forums? With them migged in they are going no where.

Sorry, no coffee yet, what is "migged"?

I actually have done the same thing to the rearmost holes on the fron trunion. I just tacked them in on two sides where they could be filed off in short order if need be. I think in brings the rivet look to a weld build and works well.

I think migged is short for MIG which is Metal Inert Gas = a type of welding.

I built a Yugo with U drive screws and the screws have held up after a few hundred rounds.  I didn't MIG weld the ends I just hammered them in and if you see the tutorial in the forum the guys who built using U drive screw have shot a few thousand rounds in theirs.  I would have probably  also shot more rounds but availability and price increases have forced me to shoot .22s.  I had to grind off the screw ends where near the magazine well to allow for magazine insertion.
