There is a first time for everything.  However it can be a little costly if you are not already set up for it.  Midwayusa.com has all you would need.

Whatever happened to the "home made battery parkerizing" thread?

I use a 18" SS pan from a restaurant steam table and a outdoor camp stove and some Brownell's mag park solution. Perfect results every time!

That is long enough to do the barrel assemblies and the receiver seperately. Then you can just press them together to finish and use as is or apply GC.

Close.  There was one thread where folks were supposedly using the guts from dry cell "D" sized alkaline batteries as one of the chemicals.  I just never remembered of anyone got any decent results out of that recipe.

Personally, I'd just use the SS tank and some of the Brownell's chemicals since I know that combo works.

I will post picks soon. I used one of the home parkerising kits. I did two guns one with super blue the other with the expencive parkerising kit i got online. To be honest the finish on the super blue is much better, and it was only like 5 bucks for the container of super blue blueing. I would use super blue

Superblue is great stuff in my book. But it just colors the steel. Parking deposits a layer  that will better hold oil compared to bare or blued steel. Brownell's mag park is a very tough coating in my experience.
