In a recent build where the weld we did on one of the rails failed I JB welded it back on (basically to be able to do a function test as I was having problems that later turned out to be due to the quadrail I had installed).  Since my friend who has the welding equipment is out chasing deer with a black powder rifle I have yet to re-weld the rail and actually ended up taking it to the range with no injuries or failures (after over 200 rounds).  I just figured some would be interested to know and for others who have done something similar I would be interested in hearing about.

I have used JB weld on alot of things and the only potential problem I
see is that your rail will fall off and jam up maybe seize up the action...

I fixed my harleys crank case cover with JB weld ....Held Leak proof for 3000 miles
till I was able to  replace the part.

Sounds good, I don't tend to put that many miles (or rounds) through it before replacing it just want it to last until the next build party where I will re-weld it.  It would certainly be a testament to the product though if an AK were to be built using it and then tested to see how much it could take.

Funny thing is I tend to think of duct tape whenever I think of JB weld and am actually tempted to do a "duct-tape-finish" on my AK to get the beat up hodgie repaired look.  I have built several beautiful AKs so far, but want this one to look more like they do before being refinish nice and pretty.  Still functional, just ugly.
