I need a good replacement for GunScrubber. I am tired of paying $8.50 for a can....I know that brake cleaner is a substitute, but I want something mild.

Thanks,

I use Gunscrubber. But here is how I use it. First I take a tooth brush with Breakfree CLP on it and scub everything. If the gun only has less than 100 rounds through it, I put some on a patch and push it through the bore and then a bore brush with CLP on it.
NOW LET EVERYTHING SOAK FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES!
Then use the Gunscrubber to hose everything off. The bore may need 3 or 4 patches of CLP to be clean. but the rest of the gun should be done.
I finish off by relubing the moving parts and then a dry patch down the barrel.
So cleaning should take about 30 mins and the Gunscrubber should last alot longer.

Should you look for non chlorinated cleaner?  I have heard some brands will melt polymer, ie Glock frames, guide rods and such...

I have even considered Simple Green.
