I acquired some samson .556, it says for best results use in 1:7 twist barrel. mine is a 1:9 twist, can i fire this without damage to the barrel or is it that accuracy they are talking about with best results.

the second question is, what is the best to degrease the carbon buildup on the internal parts

what's the bullet weight? No it won't cause any damage, your accuracy may suffer depending on how heavy the bullet is.

Oneexception is match grade that could be loaded a little long and won't chamber is a stock configuration. It would require a Compass or Wylde chamber..

1:9 is generally good up to 69gr boat-tail bullet designs.  1:7 is specifically required to stabilize the very long L110 tracer bullet in M856 tracer ammunition, which also makes it suitable for longer, heavier, long-range oriented bullets like 77gr SMK.

Unless your Samson ammo is longer/heavier than a 69gr boat tail bullet, 1:9 is just fine for it.

5.56 ammo is best when fired in a 5.56 chamber, if your chamber is .223- you could have over pressure signs.
.223 ammo can be fired safely in a 5.56 chamber, but 5.56 ammo is not recommended for use in a .223 chamber.
What is your barrel stamped? Many people do fire 5.56 in their .223, but do so with care (watching for signs of pressure), or use .223 ammo.
And, (just for curiosity) what grain bullets are you asking about? The previous posts covered everything, but there is a chamber difference (leade) albeit small.

That ammo maybe  shoots best in a 1-7 or 1-8 barrel (due to bullet length) if it is m855 which it sounds  like.
I have never heard of it damaging the barrel, it may  not be at it's best for accuracy (at distance), but should be ok.
A 1-9 barrel will not stabilize a long bullet as well as a faster twist but a 62 grain should be fine, some 1-9 barrels stabilize 75-77, some will not.
The longer tracer bullets do not stabilize as well.  You should be fine, you'll know when you shoot it.
No damage to the weapon (or you), just stabilization of the projectile is at question.

Shoot it, dunno why Samson states that on the box You'll be fine.

Edit to add--> I'm not faulting ya, being dyslexic I get things confused sometimes myself. It's 5.56 or .223

.223 inch = 5.56mm   and .308 inch = 7.62mm  That crazy metric system does shake things up. HTH
