Any reccomendations on proper usage of Dry Lube (Hoppes) for maximum effectiveness.
Want to use it on my Glock 30 and my AR...Most of my experience has been with CLP and regular Hoppes cleaning and lubrication. Apologize if this has been asked previously. Thanks for the help. |

For various reasons, dry lubricants just don't work well as general firearms lubricants.
Dry lubes can work for magazines and some other applications, but "wet" lubes are just all around better, which is why the military and police use liquid lubricants and grease. |

i have had great success with eezox. its a liquid clp that dries. leaves the gun feeling slick but definitely not wet. i use it on my daily carry gun, all my bolt guns, shotguns and the exposed parts of my AR (i use slip ewg on the bcg). i have yet to see any product outperform it for corrosion resistance & i have no reason to doubt its lubricating properties as it has passed all the torture tests but i like a little grease on the high wear points of the guns i am tough on.

I'll have to look into it, thanks! I've been using Hoppes for all mine so far |
| Alot of folks sing the praises of Eezox, but please correct me if I'm wrong; Doesn't eezox contain chlorinated esters? IIRC, I've read on the forum that it does and if so, chlorinated esters react with the metal it is supposed to be protecting/lubing and weakens the metal over time. |

Not aware of this, but would very interested to hear any news. One thing I don't like about Eezox is the initial treatment. If you follow the directions, it spreads the treatment over a couple of days, minimum. I have foud it works well on parkerized finishes or rougher blued finishes (under the stocks on a revolver for example), but I never really know if it gets into the pretty blued finishes. |
