So, I was rooting around in the garange the other day and found a long lost aeresol can of Prolong that I originally bought as a total care package for my previous vehicle several years ago. I thought what the hell and went to the range and sprayed the bolt carrier groups of my 5.56, 5.45 Adams Arms piston, and .308 AR's. I did notice that the action and recoil of the .308 was noticably smoother. The 5.45 was crisper recoil and the action was smoother. and the 5.56 was smoother as well. I fired 420 rounds through the 5.45, 240 rounds through the .308 and 420 rounds through the 5.56. I got average groups through cheap 5.56 tula,7N6 russian surplus 5.45 and silver bear .308. When I cleaned all the rifles it seemed to be easier than before. Over all I was pleased with a "free" can of lube for my AR rifles.
Has anyone ever used Prolong and if so did you notice an improvement or will it harm anything? |
