After going out for my first range trip I cleaned out the chamber, receiver, barrel w/ Nitro solvent , I noticed that small parts of the upper receiver (outside of it) were stained white. I try to wipe it down as quickly as possible but sometimes thats just not enough. Is there a way to get rid of these stains? Something I can spray on to the out side of the gun maybe to condition or clean the metal. Not sure. Thanks for the input.

I know its a weapon not a piece of art but please dont bash me for liking to keep my new toy nice. Thx

This is caused by the solvent removing the lubricant from the metal.
To "restore" it, just apply a thin coat of CLP Breakfree to the parts and wipe off the excess.
This will also build a thin layer of lube and Teflon that will protect the rifle.

This is best done with the squeeze bottle of CLP Breakfree, not the spray can.  The spray can puts out a large slug of liquid, not a spray mist.  That's just too much and makes a dripping mess.
Personally, I put drops of CLP on a clean soft old toothbrush and gently "scrub" all surfaces.
This leaves a thin coating that you usually don't have to wipe off at all.

Thanks for the advice! That sounds like an easy enough solution. I will go ahead and try some CLP
