| I am currently using some SAE 30 motor oil as my AR lube. Im pretty sure it is not synthetic...is that a problem? I hear alot of people specify synthetic when the mention what they are lubing with. Is SAE 30 better than 10W 30? i dont know shit about oil, all i know is that i put 5w 30 in my jeep |

Well, it is better that running it dry.
FWIW the civilian guy at School of Infantry at Lejeune use to and most likely still uses 30weight oil for the M2s they shoot each week. Said it held up well and was easy to get. I use CLP but to each his/her own as YMMV by brand. |
