| whos using it and what are your thoughts? |

The company gave me a 1-ounce bottle at SHOT show and later mailed me some more of it. I used it exclusively until the 1-ounce bottle was empty. I thought it was a pretty good lubricant but it sucked as a cleaner. Didnt even clean as well as the original orange colored Slip2000, which is also a poor cleaner. I ended up giving away the additional EWL product they gave me.
1-ounce of SlipEWL cost more than 4-ounces of breakfree. I wouldnt buy it. |
| It works great for a cleaner if you have it on there before you go shooting. You really notice on the second cleaning. I clean with it, then lube it up. Before my next outing I wipe it down and dry the barrel with a patch. It works wonders for me. After you let it soak for 20 mins or so, you can wipe it dry and it will still lube your weapon. this is a great benefit because no dirt will stick to it. the guys in the sandbox LOVE the stuff for this reason. |
| Me too. I scrape and clean the BCG with Kroil and Ezzox, then lube the bolt (except for the face) and forward section of the carrier with Slip 2000 gun lube (not EWL). Apparently, Slip 2000 keeps the DI carbon from sticking as much as would be the case with lesser products such as Breakfree. - CW |

Quoted:
Its too runny for my liking They make a 30 and 50 weight, but its only availabe at DSArms. I have alot of lube, but when I need some more im gonna try the 30 weight because I think its properties are great, but its like water Water that has had a ton of thickner added to it. EWL 30 and 50 are far from "like water" Stuff is like a grease. Even the plain EWL stays put. |

I do half and half. It stays put better than anything else I tried, and after a 100-200 rd session the bcg wipes right off. I should also mention I use gunzilla to clean with, and I think the zilla absorbs into the bolt after a few cleanings, and makes it easier to clean after each use. My bolts run like they are on rails with this mix. After I run out of this batch I might try just using the 30 weight by itself, and see if it's equal t the slp 2000+50 weight mix. I don't know how this mix would do in the cold weather yet. |

I use the standard Slip 2k. I really like it, mostly because it is non-toxic. The carbon killer is great stuff too, that is what I use to clean mostly. After a few range trips with the Slip cleaning up is a lot easier, mostly just wipe off and reapply lube. Just use the Carbon Killer on the tough spots. Relube and reassemble.
I cleaned my rifle today ( I haven't shot in a while, just felt like cleaning it while watching tv) and I have noticed that there was some carbon "bleeding". I guess this stuff just gets into the pores of the metal and pushes out the carbon, which is why it is so much easier to clean. |
| I really like the stuff. I also use slip 2000 725 cleaner/degreaser on my bcg, then once thats clean I'll finish it off by liberally applying the EWL. I also apply EWL to my charging handle and a light coat to my bore once I've already cleaned it with Hoppe's No.9. |
