Yup, WD gets used alot at MG shoots. Just about everyone's got a can, myself included. It does two things well for MG shooters. First, when crud builds up to a level, far beyond the imagination of most arfcommers, where the gun cycles poorly WD will get carbon back into suspension and allow you to keep going before definitive cleaning/lube. Second, WD is great short-term protection for metal surfaces when a downpour happens. Third, it's inexpensive and ubiquitous.........
Let's review basic WD +/-s: Excellent - water displacement, powder/crud solvent, price. Decent - preservative. Poor - lube. Sam |
