Hey guys my RRA lar-15 entry was short stroking. Any mag any ammo etc. Some of you said that it needs a real thorough cleaning possibly more than I am doing. RRA offered to take it back on there dime to check it out but I decided to bring it back to the guy I bought it from, because he wanted his gunsmith to check it out first. That was three weeks ago. I call every week and he says they are still cleaning it. Whats up with that. How long does it take to completely disassemble an ar and clean absolutely everything. Im in a jam because i just want my rifle back and I think he is screwing me. Any suggestions. I am very non confrontational so I dont want to demand it back because he will probably hold the thing hostage.

doesn't take long to do a full cleaning.. either they are busy or his gunsmith only works a day or two out of the week. you're not wrong for asking for your property back. i'm sure there are guys in your Hometown Forum that live in your area who would help you do the job for a couple of brews.

I can't imagine a scenario in which you would have to completely disassemble an AR-15 for a cleaning.

If the gun is short stoking, it's very unlikely that a cleaning is going to help.  ARs will run very reliably when filthy, just as long as they are well lubricated.

agreed 1911. Thats why I am confused when I called the retailer where I bought it and he said that they are still cleaning it. I regularly cleaned the barrel, bolt carrier assembly and firing pin because I thought that was a decent cleaning. I never paid much attention to the gas system other than checking the key to make sure it was tight. I think I am getting screwed and its probably still going to happen when I get it back.
