Do the 1/7 twist barrels foul with copper more than the 1/9 twist?  Just built a new AR with a 1/7 chrome lined barrel and
after running a couple hundred rounds there seemed to be a lot more copper than I remember on the 1/9 twist on my
first build.  I'm shooting 55 grain fmj through both.

Could it just be the initial roughness of the barrel as it breaks in?

Twist rate shouldn't make a difference in how fast it fouls.

I'd clean it with a good copper solvent and keep an eye on it. BSW

That makes sense.  I'll run another couple hundred through it and see how it goes.
Thanks.

I really wouldn't worry that much about it.  I think most people spend way too much time cleaning the bore of their "chrome lined" barrels.  The chrome lining almost eliminates the need for the indepty cleanings that many people are doing.

After a good break in if it’s still real bad you may want to run one of Tubb’s Final Finish kits.
