I picked up a sample at the races this weekend.
Anyone ever use this on there guns ? Reviews ? http://www.fluid-film.com/ |

There is one mention of guns on their recreational videos page. SOUNDS good for an under the bed/edc gun. Try it and tell us
Firearms
Spray on rag and then rub down firearm, leaving a thin film residue which will not leave fingerprints or come off on hands or clothes. Tack-free mechanism lubrication. Use on bolts, slides and magazines. Will not affect bluing. Good for wood-stock. |

Never heard of the stuff. It would probably work. Is it cheap? That would be my only motivation for trying it. I can't imagine anything working better than Mobil 1 10W-30 .
At six bucks and change per quart, it's all I need for a lube. I'm not sure how good it would be for a general purpose lubricant for firearms. It seems a little too thin to me. For wiping down a gun you expected to expose to weather, it would be good. Be aware that it "creeps"- meaning it will really spread from where you apply it. It works very well for rust prevention. It's not a petroleum product. The label says the active ingredient is wool wax, which I think might be lanolin. |

I guess it depends on your definition of cheap. There's a link in the original post for the factory site. I've bought it through mail order dealers and can't remember what I paid. It's often sold at John Deere dealerships if you have one in your area.
It comes in aerosol cans, 12 to a case, gallons and perhaps larger containers. |

I first heard about this stuff a couple of years ago and have been meaning to pick some up to try ever since. As has already been mentioned, it is supposed to be an excellent rust prevent - which is basically what I would use it for ... but I seriously doubt that I would use it to lube the action or any moving parts on a firearm. |
