Hey all - a number of my firearms have some markings on them where brass has rubbed against them. I've tried CLP, patches, a rough textured towel, and a cleaning toothbrush, nothing removes it.
I'm no metallurgist, but it seems to me brass smudges should be easy to remove from hardened firearm steel :). Any tips? I'd like to avoid sandpaper of any kind as I'm fearful of altering the finish, even to the slightest degree. Thanks all! |
| You guys on this forum crack me up. Yes it is a firearm, but is also a tool. Do you go and clean the carbon out of your tailpipe after every drive? Do you clean your commode after a turd has left a streak on the porcelain? Shoot the damn thing and let the weapon wear its blemishes with pride. |

Foolproof brass mark cleaning:
You will need: Your firearm's firing pin. One (1) rough file. Instructions: Remove approximately 1/8" from the end of the firing pin and replace. The weapon will no longer fire, and you will not have any more of those pesky brass marks. Keep it in your purse where it won't get marked up. Also, turn in your man card. Seriously, if you think you can actually shoot the gun the way it is meant to and still have it shiny, bright, and without a single mark, you picked the wrong hobby. |
