Couldn't find anything. Anyone have experience with silicon for lube?
Any cons?

Thanks.

Silicone burns off fast. It would not be a good lube at all in my opinion. It's great for stopping squeaks on plastic and rubber but for metal to metal contact its a no go.

What he said.
Also:
Silicone = self-lubricating rubbery substance

Silicon = metallic element

I tried this once on a Ruger 10/22 and a Browning Buckmark. I was not happy with the results. I imagine it would be even less satisfactory on an AR.

I prefer to use a lightweight grease on my 10/22 and I have been using it on my ARs recently too.

I use Rem Oil Dry Lube on my 10/22. It really keeps the powder residue and gunk to a minimum.
