Noveske recommends against using a "GI" chamber brush because it has a steel core loop which they say could damage the throat of the chamber. I thought it was a bit nit picky but decided what the hay I'll just buy several brushes with a bronze or brass core.
Problem is I cannot find them anywhere. Do they exist? Or should I just be careful like I have been with the GI brush which seems to do the trick. |

I get mine from Brownells and they have a brass core, I can't seem to find it on the website right now.
Otis also sells them: http://www.otisgun.com/cgistore/store.cgi?page=/new/product.html&setup=1&ida=85&idp=2&his=0|2&cart_id=6644592.7828 Not sure why this one costs 3 times as much, might want to call and ask: http://www.otisgun.com/cgistore/store.cgi?page=/new/product.html&setup=1&ida=152&idp=3&his=0|5|3&cart_id=6644592.7828 There is a difference in the threads between an M16 and AR15 chamber brush, unless you're using a GI cleaning rod you want the AR15 version. Otis calls both of these"'M16", again, you should probably call. |
