[ARCHIVED THREAD] - coating comming off inside upper reciever

Some hoppes #9 solvent came in contact with the inside upper reciver of my new BUshmaster XM15 while i was cleaning out the bore and started peeling off the grey coating while i was tring to wipe it off.. Is this a baked on dry lube and does it normally melt like this when exposed to solvents?.. Is this something i should be concerned about?

dry lube. comes off if you breath on it to hard. nothing to worry about.

if you wish to reapply permasilk is what was on there.

Thanx guys. I was hoping thats all it was. It Just bothered me becuase I have a bit of OCD when it comes to my toys. I'm sure I'll reaply the permasilk at some point if it starts looking horrible. Thanx for the tip.
