try a craft store or hobby shop. If they do not have long enough ones I'm sure Brownells and Midway USA sell em. I think I got 100 long ones for like 3 bucks at Jo Ann Fabrics about a year ago.

If all else fails, try a local tobacco store.

I would think someplace like Wal-mart or Wal-greens would also carry them.  Like grouchy hermit suggested (although neither are tobacco stores) I would look at the cash register area that has the tobacco items.

Wally World has 'em in the craft section.  They call 'em Fuzzy Sticks, I think.

I have always thought the chance of the gastube getting blocked  is not too likely but if I were to be sticking pipecleaners and other stuff down it it only raises the chance of problems.

I am lazy and have never "cleaned" the gastube other than pulling the trigger and things have been fine for me

Oh my....   no, no.  Don't ever stick one of those fuzzy sticks in the gas tube.  Gas tube does not need to be cleaned.  It's self cleaning with about 30K psi of gas coming through it.

Reread the OP's post.
I've never cleaned or put anything down a gas tube besides the recommended lube since '75.

I have used the "fuzzy sticks" from wally world, and I have also used some good ones I picked up at a gun show just for it.  I normally wouldn't clean the gas tube, but I run a 5.45 upper, and the corrosive..... well you know  A wet cleaner with windex, then a dry one
