What do you guys use to clean the exterior of your ARs? I use CLP on the internals, but looking for thoughts on cleaning the dirt and grime from the upper, lower, rails, plastic bits, etc. I am not talking about a light coat of dust. I "play" hard and usually end up with muck in all of the nooks and crannies (the gun's, not mine).

After removing all the loose dirt and crud with a rag I go over it with a toothbrush.  I finish up with CLP on a small stiff paintbrush and "paint" all over the exterior.  After a day or so I wipe off any excess CLP.

MPro7 works for heavier dirt or on non-ferrous parts a damp cloth.

Also like the CLP drip dry for a day approach, makes sure everything is oiled.
