| Is there a certain rounds fired schedule at which certain parts should be replaced? |

Get a military TM and a gauge set. Learn to gauge your gun, and replace parts accordingly. FYI- in the military, gas rings are wear and tear items, replace if they fail; the drop-test. Barrels usually fail chamber wear before they lose accuracy. What do you mean? Are you referring to headspace wear? Most barrels wear out the throat first, which leads to decreased accuracy. Small bore, high velocity barrels are more prone to throat wear, which is part of the reason AK barrels last so long and .22 barrels last almost forever. BSW |
| I replace parts when they break or look like they need it. Were talking thousands of rounds before anything needs replacing. How many rounds do you shoot yearly out of your AR? Most people don't shoot enough to worry about most parts. Well, some people on this forum probably do shoot enough. I bought a bushmaster field replacement parts kit and an extra bolt and bring it with me to the range, if anything goes down I'm hoping I can get the gun back up and working. |
