| Doing grip replacements on my AR's and looking down into the grip with my old tired eyes I cant see the securing item is a hex bolt with a hole in the head or a bolt with a hex hole in head requiring allen wrench. I tried sockets but none seem to fit so I'm going to assume I need an allen of some size. Any one happen to know if its a standard or metric hex. I currently have none. |
| They also make sockets with allen heads attached to them for socket wrenches. If there is too much loctite or torque on that allen screw for the grip, you may not be able to get it out with a typical allen wrench, get one of the socket wrench version, put it on the end of an extension with your socket wrench, you'll get 10 time more torque on that allen screw. |
