I finally got around to opening the box with my Emod stock last night and after watching a very helpful video on Brownells on how to remove the buffer tube, etc I come to find out I need a special wrench to get the castle nut on the buffer tube loose. I could make one but they had one for sale for $9. I’ll order it for that. Getting my tools out isn’t worth $9.

While looking at their available tools I came across a lot of options in regards to a multi tool. Price range $36-$85 or so. Now, I have a TON of tools, 2 full size double decker boxes. In most cases I’m sure I could get something to “work” for what I need to do while maintaining / modding but it is nice to have the right stuff. In the past I have learned that it’s very easy to get a “set” of tools ad only end up using a few of them and the other ones never get touched.

What are most of you using out there as far as multi-tools? Of course I would like to have the Billy Bad A$$ setup but if I don’t need to spend the money and I may never use 60% of them I would like to avoid shelling out for them.

Here are the AR tools Brownells has available:

I got this to remove the buffer tube castle nut:

I was wodering if this make for a good multi tool:

This one seems to be the big daddy expensive one:

someone just came out with a multi tool that fits in the pistol grip, check the new ar products section. I think it is samson. Also I guess the site is looking at some kind of multi tool that is more like a traditional multi tool, check the store forum
