Hypothetical question here....

I have a bushmaster, i bought an extra bushmaster Bolt & Bolt Carrier to have as a replacement "just in case"

If I have to use it can I just switch it out without any issues?

The TM says you should check headspace before exchanging bolts.

Plenty of guys don't check and still have their eyes, YMMV.

If the chamber to bolt distance is too large, you have excess headspace. Excess headspace can cause cartridges to rupture, leaking 50000 psi into places that it isn't meant to be is a bad thing.

Check around your hometown forum for guys that can help you out with how to check headspace. You need a special gage to check this. BSW

Works for me, if and when I need to do this.......... just glad I ordered my spare 7 months ago instead of trying to get one now.... bad enough I am on indefinite wait for spare parts kits

Thanks so much
