Hey I got a Hoppes bore snake. It has a small section with a "bore brush" built into it (little section with brass fibers). Is it normal that I have to pull extremely hard to get this thing through the barrel. And can these little brass brush fibers embedded in the bore snake scratch the inside of the molly chromed barrel if I need to pull this hard? Anyone use one?

Bore snakes seem like they are always hard to pull through when new and your gun is dirty. They get a little easier to pull after a while.

Use one all the time as the "final wipe" of the cleaing process. Removes lint from cleaning patches and leaves a coat of CLP in the bore.  I do not use one as the only cleaning solution, that is what rods are for.

I use on for quick range cleanings.  They will loosen up over time.
