I bought some Shooters Choice Copper Remover, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had good experience with this product. I've read that it's pretty harsh stuff and can possible screw something up. I just do not  want it to mess up my chrome lining is all.

It is harsh. I wouldn't leave it in there very long. What ever the instructions say... But if your rifle is chromed lined if shouldn't build up copper very fast or bad. I myself just just BreakFree foaming bore cleaner. It's seems to do a decent job and isn't as harsh.. I think Outers foaming bore cleaner is the same thing as the Breakfree. It seems to be anyhow... Yeah, I think I'll save it for my fuddly guns. I just cleaned my AR with Hoppes #9 and some CLP and I feel good about it.

The Hoppes #9 copper solvent would be a good choice too.  It's not nearly as harsh as the ammonia based ones, the instructions say to leave it in the bore overnight, and would be enough for the amount of copper that builds up in an AR bore.  I wouldn't leave it overnight, but fifteen minutes should be plenty safe.

I have used the Hoppes Copper solvent and I think highly of it also. WD
